I used to hate having to go to a clothing store and online options were a dogsend: not having to go to a place and spend ages manually searching through a bunch of clothes I didn’t care about only so I can give them money such that they’d allow me to transfer those clothes into my drawer, where I cared about them just as little. Already too much effort for smth that’s only there to keep you mildly protected from the elements.
This month I went to humana1 4 times (and once visiting 2 in a row, so 5 store visits) and without knowing exactly what I wanted, I quickly got into a flow that had me whiz through the color-sorted racks, identifying at a glance what would be interesting to try and could fit.
I really enjoyed the speed at which I added new things into my basket and within minutes I’d have to press the clothes deeper into it to make room for more. After doing this at a few more racks, I’d bring a wobbly tower of various clothes into the changing room.

The first time, I took a while in there and had the lights turned off on me before I had the time to try on the last couple of items and then hurriedly got back into my own clothes, lest they not let me purchase all I’ve found so far. But already by the next visit this process went much quicker and now it’s quite exciting to go in there and quickly find a bunch of interesting things, briefly try them on, and leave with a further enrichment of my closet.
I’ve gone from having only a handful of femme-ish items to having swapped out my entire wardrobe – I sold off almost all of my boy-clothes and with that financed at least one of the humana trips. And now, when looking into my drawers, I’m excited of all the clothes I got!
